Birchwood Lakes is a census-designated place located in Delaware Township, Pike County in the state of Pennsylvania. The community is located off Pennsylvania Route 739 in eastern Pike County, near the New Jersey line. As of the 2010 census the population was 1,386 residents.
Birchwood Lakes Community Association, Inc. is a private community in the Pocono Mountains in Dingmans Ferry, Pennsylvania. It was established in the 1960s as a summer community designed to attract city families to the country. Now it has 877 houses and 27 miles of private roads. Many of the former summer cottages have been converted to year round houses and a substantial number of families live in the community. New houses continue to be built for vacationers and year-round residents.
Dingmans Ferry is close to the Delaware River and the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. In addition to outdoor activities, the neighboring town of Milford provides opportunities to enjoy art, antiques and music. Local restaurants cater to many tastes and recreation opportunities within the community and nearby are abundant.
