Lake Wallenpaupack

Lake Wallenpaupack

Lake Wallenpaupack is one of Northeastern Pennsylvania’s top outdoor destinations — a 5,700-acre lake in at the center of the Pocono Lake Region, originally built in the 1920s to generate hydroelectric power. Today, it’s a favorite destination for anyone who loves being on or near the water. Whether you’re cruising on a boat, casting a line, traveling through the Pocono Mountains, or simply relaxing by the water, the lake offers plenty of things to do year-round.

Stretching 13 miles across Pike and Wayne counties, Lake Wallenpaupack is easy to reach via Route 6. Along its 52 miles of shoreline, you’ll find marinas, public boat launches, a sandy public swimming beach, campgrounds, and scenic walking trails. It’s the kind of place where you can pack in the adventure or kick back and take it slow—any time of year.
